The Prince

and

the Horse

Once upon a time there was a young, kind, handsome prince who lived in a dark gloomy castle. Lately his wife had mysteriously disappeared and he was desperate to find her! The castle had many hidden chambers within, one of which the prince didn’t know about. The prince had been seeing strange visions of a beautiful white horse. He thought this horse might be a ghost, but it wasn’t.

A few days later the prince had gone through the castle’s old history books and had found an old map to a secret chamber and was willing to find it. So he set out a search, looking for the secret chamber. Finally he found it, a small room with dozens of jars, liquid and bottles. There was a scruffy table in the corner of the room with a yellowish piece of paper on it. The prince walked over to the table to read the note. It read: kiss the mare upon its back, and you shall get your princess back. The white horse!

The prince knew exactly what to do. He raced out of the chamber and out into the corridor. That night he would wait, and hopefully find the white horse. At midnight, the young prince was up and ready. He had hidden in one of the cupboards and to his surprise, had found an extremely large and unpleasant spider in there. Two hours later and still no sign of the horse. Suddenly a flick of a tail flew past the cupboard door. A beautiful snow-white horse reared up from the corridor.

After the horse had calmed down a bit the prince came out from his cupboard. “My poor wife!” he wept. “What has happened to you?” Suddenly the prince remembered the note from the chamber. “I hope this works” he said briefly and without further ado he kissed the mare’s back. Suddenly the white horse transformed, white sparks flying everywhere, and became a beautiful young woman once more. Soon they moved out of the dark castle, and bought a stunning golden palace in the clouds. A few years later, they had children, and lived happily ever after.
