FRASER: Once upon a time there was dog called Shadow

SAM: Was he a happy dog?

FRASER: No, he was very sad.

SAM O: Why was he sad?

FRASER: He had no home and no one to love him or play with him

MATTHEW: What happened to him?

FRASER: One day he was walking by the Ewenny River

SAM O: Where?

FRASER: By the stepping stones, when he saw three rats

JARRAD: Did they help him?

FRASER: Yes. They said that the river had magical powers

FRASER: The rats told Shadow to go down to the river when...

ALL: ...the sun is going down and the moon is coming up.

FRASER: But they said that he must get the time just right

LOWELL : Did he try this?

FRASER: Yes he did. The very next evening.

HANNAH: Did he get the time right?

FRASER: No! When he looked into the river he saw some people at a football match

FRASER: It was so noisy he decided to leave

JASON: What did he do next?

FRASER: Next evening he went to the river when...

ALL: ...the sun was going down and the moon was coming up

HANNAH: Did he get the time right?

FRASER: Oh no! When he looked into the river

he saw people at a circus.

CORI: What did he do?

FRASER: Everyone was so happy

it just made him feel so alone so he walked away.

ASHLEY: Did he go back to the river?

FRASER: Oh yes! The next evening when...

ALL: ...the sun was going down and the moon was coming up

FRASER: Not quite. When he looked into the river he saw a Teddy Bear's Picnic.

RAINE: What were they eating?

FRASER: Crisps, biscuits and chocolate cake

ALL: Yum Yum!

JEN: What happened next?

FRASER: Suddenly a wolf appeared.

SARAH: Were the Teddy Bear's afraid?

FRASER: Oh yes. But a brave girl called Sarah threw a water bomb at the wolf, and he ran away.

SHANNON : Is that the end?

FRASER: Oh no. Shadow went down to the river when...

ALL: ...the sun was going down and the moon was coming up

HANNAH: Did he get the time right?

FRASER: Oh yes! When he looked into the river he saw a pretty little girl sitting on the stepping stones. she reached across and stroked Shadow's fur and tickled his tummy.

LLOYD J: Did Shadow like being tickled?

FRASER: Oh yes. He was very happy.

SHANNON : Is that the end?

FRASER: No. While Shadow and the little girl were playing together they didn't notice the tide coming in. The river was getting higher and higher and flowing faster and faster.

JEN: What happened next?

FRASER: Shadow nudged the little girl with his nose and pushed her across the stepping stones to the safety of the bank just before the river reached them.

SHANNON : Is that the end?

FRASER: Not quite. The little girl took Shadow to her home. When she told her parents how Shadow had saved her from the river they let her keep Shadow.

ALL: Was Shadow happy?

FRASER: Oh yes. He had a nice home and a family to love him.
